Church Choir

Our LCS choir help us to raise our voices in praise to God. Choir is a fun group that enjoy getting together to sing and have fun together. Whether you are new to singing or have experience new members are always welcome! Choir meets at LCS on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Handbell Choir at Lutheran Church of the Savior, known affectionately as the Ding a Lings, did not originate at LCS!  The bells were originally the property of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo.  When Our Redeemer closed, ownership was transferred by the Synod to LCS.  Pastor Suzy Walton, campus minister at Western Michigan University, was our first director.  Rehearsals as a group began in the fall of 1997.  We’ve had all ages, with the youngest being 12.  There is no need to read music, although it is helpful.  All that is needed is a desire to learn and be available for rehearsals on Tuesday nights at 5:30 p.m.  Rehearsal times are open for discussion.  There are always members willing to help anyone in the learning process.  We would be happy to welcome anyone who is interested in becoming a ringer to come and check us out.  You’ll probably be hooked and stay!
