Lutherans believe and acknowledge Jesus Christ as the second person of the Holy Trinity, the only begotten Son of God, the promised Messiah. Jesus was born of the power of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary. He lived in complete obedience to the will of God and by a holy mystery is both fully human and divine. We are given salvation as a gift from God by our faith in Jesus Christ and all he has accomplished for us in his birth, life, death, and resurrection.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being." - John 1:1-3
